Utmark: install guide

WHAT YOU NEED

• Windows 10 or 11.
• An itch.io account

OPTION 1: THE ITCH APP (EASIEST & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

1. Get the itch app from itch.io/app and log in.
2. Search for Utmark, click Install, then Launch.

OPTION 2: THE ZIP

1. Click Download on this page and save the zip.
2. Right-click the zip, choose "Extract All...", and pick a folder, for example C:\Games\utmark. Don't start the game from inside the zip.
3. Open that folder and double-click utmark.exe.
4. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click "More info", then "Run anyway". Windows says that about every game that isn't code-signed.

Keep utmark.exe, utmark.pck and the data_utmark_windows_x86_64 folder together in one folder.

UPDATES

When a new version is out, the game tells you, and "Get Update" opens this page. The itch app updates by itself. With the zip, download the new one and extract it over your old folder. Your characters stay.

GOOD TO KNOW

- Alt+Enter switches between fullscreen and a window.

- Your login is saved on your PC, not in the game folder. On another PC you start with a new, empty account. Tell me and I can move your characters over.

- This is an early test build and things will break. Tell me what you find!
